Today is the day I have been working toward for a very long time.
I leave in a couple of hours for my trip to visit Dawn’s family. Along the way, I’ll be reconnecting with friends who have impacted my life in profound ways. This is truly a full-circle moment, and I honestly feel the urge to pinch myself to make sure it’s real.
As I was walking my dog this morning, I found myself reflecting on how peaceful I feel. I’m calm and confident, full of hope and trust.
If this were a couple of years ago, I would not have been feeling this way. I would have been anxious—feeling awkward, unsure, and nervous. That’s because I was still carrying so much guilt. So much fear. So much self-blame.
It has taken a lot of work and healing to come to this place of love, forgiveness, and inner peace.
I am comfortable without my mask of over-performance, without drinking to calm my nerves, and without the constant battles with imposter syndrome. I am rooted in who I am, and I trust that things are working in my favor—not that I have to outrun some problem waiting to happen.
That feeling of hypervigilance has dissipated.
It’s a unique place to be. And it’s truly life-changing.
I can’t wait to see what the next few days bring. I’ll do my best to keep you updated along the way. Watch my Instagram stories for glimpses of my days, and I’ll come back and share an update after I return.
And then, on Tuesday, September 1st, my book will officially be released for sale!
I’ve had a couple of glitches with Amazon. If you’re ordering a paperback, please follow the link on my website to preorder. The electronic version is available on Amazon now. Look up “Behind the Glass Dingess” to find my book—there are a few other Behind the Glass titles out there.
I’ll send a reminder next week when everything is live!
I can’t wait to finally share this book—and this next chapter—with you. ❤️
Have a great day, my friends!!!
